Booked hard waste clean-up service and illegal dumping

Problem

In an attempt to reduce illegal dumping and improve services for residents, many councils are introducing booked hard waste clean-up services.

This booking process is often managed by council call centres, despite being both time consuming and administratively demanding.

Solution

MyWaste provides an optional hard waste clean-up service booking system module, allowing residents to log in, select their address and define the type of items they would like to be collected.

Depending on the structure of the service, councils have the option of adding specialist collection services for items like mattresses, furniture, white goods and green waste. Once a collection is booked, residents are able to log in and adjust or cancel their booking. 

The ‘Report a Problem’ function (left) also allows residents to easily report illegal dumping by submitting their location, contact details and a brief description of the problem. MyWaste then generates a report which is distributed to the appropriate council department or individual for assessment.
