The position

We are looking for a recent graduate or professional with 1-3 years of relevant experience who is eager to contribute to meaningful work in a rapidly growing sector.

You will join a dynamic team, working closely with our Managing Director and staff on projects for the private and government sectors which bring about actionable change and contribute towards mitigation of climate change

Key capacities and skills

  • Bachelor (Honours) or Master degree in Environmental Science or Engineering or relevant degree in environmental science/management, engineering or planning
  • Interest in circular economy, resource recovery and waste management
  • Data analysis and modelling skills (preferred)
  • Strong excel skills
  • Profound and professional communication skills
  • Legal / contracts and legislation (optional)
  • Very strong report writing skills
  • Ability to work in an innovative manner
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Enthusiasm to work on a variety of projects

Responsibilities

You can expect to be challenged – we work in a fast-paced environment and often there are many balls to juggle. You need to be resilient, flexible and able to prioritise and multitask as the role entails:

  • Report writing and delivering of projects
  • Research (e.g. into legislation, technology types)
  • Data collection, analysis and reporting 
  • Leading or assisting bid managers to compile bids and proposals for future work
  • Development of project management skills
  • Working with stakeholders and communities to gain greater understanding and deliver the best outcomes for them
  • Audits and site assessment
  • Participation in industry organisations and events.

About you

As an MRA team member you will be expected to:

  • Use your project work as an opportunity to develop a sound understanding of the waste industry (throughbackground reading, reading current publications, attending relevant seminars etc. where advised)
  • Attend fortnightly team meetings
  • Ensure you have the information you require to undertake any work given to you and to inform the project manager or business director where you are unsure
  • Self-starter and enthusiastic to learn

Graduate roles usually last a period of 12 months, with progression to consultant following a performance review.
