Bin Trim rebates for SME recyclers
The NSW EPA has released new opportunities for Bin Trim Rebates under the $465.7 million NSW Government Waste Less Recycle More initiative (WLRM).
The rebates provide a new opportunity to SME recyclers (collectors and processors) to deliver new or enhanced services to their small and medium businesses clients.
The rebate funding is summarised below:

| Bin Trim Rebates | Recyclers with less than 200 FTE employees | Will provide new services for SME clients or enhance current SME services to divert additional waste from landfill. | Balers, bins, bin equipment, compactors, composters, shredders and other equipment on a case-by-case basis. | $50,000 per site to fund up to 50% of the cost of equipment. Available each financial year (15/16 – 16/17) to a maximum value of $250,000 across 5 sites. |

Businesses can apply for a rebate through an authorised Bin Trim Assessor. As a Grantee of the Bin Trim program, MRA has a team of assessors operating across NSW who can facilitate this process.
