Local Government Organics Collection Systems

The NSW EPA has released its fourth round of Local Government Organics Collection Systems grants under the $465.7 million NSW Government Waste Less Recycle More initiative (WLRM).

The new grants provide a one off opportunity to NSW local councils to deliver new or enhanced household kerbside collection services for food and garden organics. The new grant funding is summarised below:

Grant Eligible Applicants Project Requirements Funding Per Applicant Closing Date
Local Government Organics Collection Systems All NSW Councils
  • New organics services; or
  • Enhanced organics services; and
  • Must be processed at licensed facility.
$1.3 million to fund up to 100% of project costs (restrictions apply to some items) Thursday 19 May 2016
