From Rubbish to Resources: Building a Circular Economy- Standing Committee report
The Australian House of Representatives Standing Committee on Industry, Innovation, Science and Resources recently released a report on Waste and the Circular Economy, “From Rubbish to Resources: Building a Circular Economy”.
The report examines solutions to waste management and recycling, EfW, current impediments to innovation and waste management in rural Australia. It focuses on textiles, food waste and garden waste, medical waste, solar panels, wind turbines, mining waste and transitioning to a circular economy as a means of preventing waste.
Overall, it makes 24 recommendations, ranging from product design to reduce waste to tackling FOGO and a national approach to waste management.
