MRA preparing for 2023 Coffs Waste conference.

The 2022 Coffs Waste Conference has come and gone and with everyone back at the office, we managed to have a quick debrief. What everyone agreed on was that it was great to physically be back in a room with all our peers.

Once more, MRA made its presence felt at the Coffs Waste conference.

MRA was pleased and honoured to sponsor the 2019 NACRO Conference, helping to bring together the like-minded people willing and able to collaborate on solving what is possibly THE most important problem of the century.

For every job in landfill we create 3 jobs in recycling. For every 10,000t of waste we landfill we generate 3 landfill jobs vs 9.2 recycling jobs. Mike Ritchie explains how recycling can help grow regional jobs.

Mike Ritchie attended the 2019 Australian Landfills and Transfer Stations Conference and delivered a presentation on how differences in legislation, targets and data between states is hindering resource recovery in Australia.

The annual WasteMINZ Conference (5-8 November 2018) is wrapping up in Christchurch at the Air Force Museum of New Zealand and Mike was amongst the first to present on its second day. Mike outlined the challenges and impacts of China's National Sword policy on local recycling markets and described the industry's current and potential responses.

Well regarded as Australia’s leading waste management conference, the Waste 2018 brought together over 600 delegates, including representatives from approximately 100 local councils, 76 sponsors and exhibitors and 130 presenters, both nationally and internationally. It was held over 8-10 May at Opal Cove Resort in Coffs Harbour.

This year’s Waste Conference had the largest array of exhibitors than any year before. MRA’s Charlotte Wang visited 45 exhibitors to get a feel for what’s up and coming in the waste collection and processing sector.
