WLRM Community Recycling Centre Grants
The NSW EPA has released its fourth stage of Improved Systems for Household Problem Wastes – Community Recycling Centres grants under the $337 million NSW Government Waste Less Recycle More initiative (WLRM).
The new grants offer funding to deliver Community Recycling Centre (CRC) projects in specific target areas with the aim of making it easier for householders to recycle problem wastes. The new grant funding is summarised below:

Bayside, Blacktown, Camden, Canterbury Bankstown, Central Coast, Cumberland, Goulburn Mulwaree, The Hills, Ku-ring-gai, Lake Macquarie, North Sydney, Northern Beaches, Parramatta, Ryde, Shellharbour, Sutherland, Sydney, Wagga Wagga, Waverly, Wollondilly, Woollahra, Yass Valley |
$200,000 per project for infrastructure costs through the following ratios:
100% for infrastructure on publicly owned land or leased (application by state/local govt.) 100% for applications by not-for-profits/ NGOs 50% (1:1) for infrastructure built on privately-owned land or is an application from private industry |

Problem wastes targeted under this grant are: paint, gas bottles, fire extinguishers, motor and cooking oils, car and household batteries, fluorescent tubes and globes and smoke detectors.
