WLRM Product Improvement Program grants now open

The NSW EPA has opened round 1 of its $4.5M Product Improvement Program grants under the $48M Waste and Recycling Infrastructure Fund of the NSW Government Waste Less Recycle More initiative (WLRM).
The new grants provide funding to support the NSW resource recovery sector with responding to changes in recycling markets and mitigate the effects of China’s National Sword policy. The program supports investment in infrastructure projects that improve the quality of recycled materials, increase the amount of materials recycled in NSW or increase the use of recycled plastics, glass and paper/cardboard in the manufacture of products within NSW. The program targets paper/cardboard, plastics, glass, tyres, engineered and treated timber, e-waste and plasterboard however, preference will be given to projects that prioritise glass, paper/cardboard and plastics.

Projects are to:
Increase the throughput of MRFs; and/or Improve the quality of outputs/reduce contamination; and/or Increase manufacturer capacity to use recycled materials in their products. |
$50,000 to $1,000,000, up to 50% of eligible items for the private sector, up to 75% of capital eligible items for councils.
