Queensland Government Resource Recovery Industry Development Programs Grants Now Open
The Queensland Government has re-opened Expressions of Interest for stream one of the $100 million Resource Recovery Industry Development Program (RRIDP).
The RRIDP provides funding to Queensland’s resource recovery industries through support for projects that divert waste from landfill and create jobs. Stream one offers capital grants from $50,000 to $5 million for facilities and infrastructure projects that facilitate waste avoidance, landfill diversion and recycling activities.
The RRIDP round two funding is available across three submission streams, which have been tailored to attract a range of projects requiring different levels and types of assistance.
Applications for Stream 1 close 5pm Friday 20 September 2019. (Stream 2 and 3: on-going EOI stage followed by a detailed submission). Detailed application stage to follow.

| Stream 2– Resource Recovery project Fund Businesses Local government Not-for profit organisations Non-government organisations Regional groups of councils | Contribute to growth in the biofutures and resource recovery industry Be located in Qld Recover wastes currently landfilled or going to low value outlets New or improved infrastructure Use proven technology Be able to: – Maintain delivery of program – Achieve planning approval | This program is designed to provide broader financial incentives to attract or expand major resource recovery project that will deliver significant landfill diversion The financial incentives will be negotiated on a case by case basis depending on the scale of the major project being expanded or attracted to Queensland. |
| Stream 3– Resource Recovery Investment Pipeline Fund Businesses Local government Not-for profit organisations Non-government organisations Regional groups of councils | Contribute to growth in the biofutures and resource recovery industry Be located in Qld Recover wastes currently landfilled or going to low value outlets New or improved infrastructure Use proven technology | Grants up to $1 million to assist grantees to undertake late-stage feasibility studies and finalise critical issues in order to make an investment decision relating to a resource recovery project. Research and development will not be funded. |
